Neal Roberts joined Dolby Laboratories in 2016 to drive broadcast partnerships with a focus on HDR and immersive audio workflows for North American broadcasters. A well-rounded industry veteran, Roberts has been involved in nearly all aspects of production, design, integration, and distribution. His career began by chasing and shooting local news throughout high school and studying broadcast at Kutztown University. He moved west to become director of photography for a large production company in Santa Monica, and then honed his system integration skills in the CEDIA space. Roberts moved back to the east coast to start a family and join Comcast, leading several cross-functional teams at their headquarters in Philadelphia.
An early champion of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Roberts played a key role in Comcast’s adoption and wide deployment of these technologies to improve customer experiences. He has been part of teams that delivered five Olympic Games, countless NHRA events, World Series, NBA, NHL, and multiple regional sporting events. Roberts is a U.S. patent holder, has multiple industry certifications, and has a passion for restoring and driving classic and custom automobiles and trucks.
